LEO’s Playbook: Solutions for Public Spaces

Strategy

As we’ve seen the world take a pause over the past few months, our sole mission remains the same – to provide our clients with the best and safest solutions moving forward. We have worked with you to postpone and modify programs affected during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are now ready to get back to work for you. Because, as they say, the show must go on. As cities and states begin phases of reopening, there are new guidelines required for employers, venues, restaurants, etc., and LEO is here to provide support and guidance as you put these guidelines into practice. Below you will find five key categories that put safety guidelines into simple perspective:

Transparency

First and foremost, leadership should be open and honest with employees. “Transparency is essential during the COVID-19 crisis between management and employees,” says Amanda Finck, LEO’s Human Resources Director. “It’s the management’s responsibility to synthesize the information that is being updated daily into digestive resources for the team so they do not get overwhelmed.” Keep your team informed on the precautions being implemented, as well as any new knowledge or changes to guidelines.

Self-Observation

Self-observation is a critical component of general wellness in the months ahead, and employees need to be equipped with the proper knowledge and tools to do so. Providing people with a Self-Observation Questionnaire will tell them what to look for, provide them with an outline of where and how to observe themselves, and tell them what to do when their healthy may be in jeopardy. A few simple questions in conjunction with a standard thermometer is all they will need to be the first line of defense in keeping themselves and others safe.

Personal Protection Equipment

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends cloth masks for everyone who steps out into the public, thus applying to most people in a workplace or event environment. To cover all bases, we recommend a personalized PPE Package that’s adaptable to your unique situation. This could include cloth masks, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes.

 Transportation

Transportation is always a major component of any workplace or event – you have to be able to get your people where they need to be. As we begin to get back to work, ensuring the cleanliness of all vehicles used to transport employees or attendees is a necessary sanitation step in overall health and safety. Route optimization and capacity planning are critical elements for your team and attendees. Focus on operations and get up to speed on temporary regulation updates; and be disciplined in the execution. The LEO team can quickly review and evaluate any potential operational challenges and build out a transportation sanitation plan in ordinance with any amendments that need to be made to your existing transportation plan, including fleet management and updated vehicle capacity guidelines.

Thermal Scanning Technology

Some municipalities are being vigilant in their efforts to return their communities back to normal day-to-day activity. The Hilton Hotel Brand, Four Seasons in New York, for example, has placed medical staff at the entry of their hotel and are turning away any guests if a fever is indicated. Despite around-the-clock efforts to produce and distribute large amounts of COVID-19 tests, many companies are left to navigate and implement best safety protocols on their own. Utilizing our operations and logistics experience, our team has worked to develop safety protocols for large groups moving forward. April Harbour, LEO’s Director of Festivals and Public Events explains, “Companies need to be prepared to prevent a potential outbreak of COVID-19 within a confined space. That’s why we’ve taken our extensive experience with public events and logistics to develop protocols ensuring that existing safety plans are modified for compatibility with new guidelines.”

Being safe and healthy in this new climate takes meticulous preparation. That’s why we’ve put together a complete plan that can be tailored to any situation, meeting your needs and keeping employees and attendees as safe as possible. To learn more, do not hesitate to reach out.
