2021 Annual Meeting
The International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) is a prestigious, invitation-only group of trail lawyers, including prosecutors and defense lawyers in criminal cases, and plaintiffs and defense counsel in civil litigation. With Fellows from more than 30 countries, IATL partnered with LEO Events to produce their 2021 Annual Meeting.
LEO hosted the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in Memphis, virtually, through a custom virtual meeting platform that featured Memphis-themed activations and engagements. Some of the virtual experiences included the Peabody Hotel duck march, a private tour of Graceland with Priscilla Presley, and a chocolate and wine tasting with Bluff City’s own award-winning chocolatier, Phillip Ashley.
As a result of the pandemic, the program was forced to pivot, cancel, and inevitably reschedule its 2020 Annual Meeting in Memphis. IATL needed to provide an energizing and unforgettable virtual experience that reengaged and captured the attention of every attendee. Loyal to the Memphis-themed experience, IATL looked towards LEO to bring their vision to life.
LEO Events worked to transition IATL’s Annual Meeting into our customizable, proprietary virtual event platform and helped to educate the client on virtual meeting strategy and capabilities. To give attendees the energy of an in-person event, LEO designed daily meet and greet rooms and Memphis-themed mixer receptions within the custom platform.
LEO honored the Memphis theme by featuring Bluff City-themed activations and engagements throughout the three-day event. This included prerecorded content filmed at the Peabody Hotel where IATL’s first lady participated in the world-famous duck march. LEO created a custom extended reality (XR) setting for Priscilla Presley, who filmed personalized content live from LA, and attendees received a prerecorded tour of Graceland, the place Elvis called home. Additionally, IATL partnered with a local venue that produced daily concerts featuring Memphis musicians.
Other Memphis-themed engagements included sizzle reels from our partners at Memphis Tourism and a chocolate and wine tasting with Memphis’ award-winning chocolatier, Phillip Ashley. Attendees received gift boxes that included IATL branded items and a book on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination from Memphis author, Hampton Sides.
