Sustainability<\/h5>\n<p>An emphasis on sustainability will continue to rise in 2019 with a focus on biodegradable packaging and waste reduction. Majorcities like San Francisco and Seattle enforced straw bans in 2018 and you will see a surge in attendees forgoing single use service ware in place of reusable goods such as refillable water bottles, insulated cups, and metal straws.<\/p>\n<h5>2. Special Dietary Needs<\/h5>\n<p>Increased awareness of dietary restrictions and healthy eating will drive demand for alternative offerings at events. Vegetarian and vegan options have become required options in recent years and requests for gluten-free and low carb will continue to grow. Hosts should look at offering low-carb alternatives such as cauliflower rice or lettuce wraps to stratify guests\u2019 special dietary needs.<\/p>\n<h5>3. International Flavors<\/h5>\n<p>An increase in adventurous tastes and interest in global cuisine will skyrocket in 2019. Expect to see Latin American dishes as well as Pan-Asian fare taking center stage on event menus this year. Curry, harissa, and other non-traditional condiments that can be served alongside the more conventional ketchup and mustard as an easy way to incorporate international flavors.<\/p>\n<h5>4. CBD Cocktails and Confections<\/h5>\n<p>We predict CBD infused goods will take over menus at meetings and events in 2019. Cocktails are a great way to incorporate CBD into an event menu, particularly if you want to offer a non-alcoholic option for guests. Dessert offerings such as chocolates also offer an opportunity for an extra dose of relaxation.
