Position Summary:

The Event Designer will be primarily responsible for the development, implementation, and execution pertaining to the overall aesthetic and design of an event. While working alongside LEO’s account executives, creative team, and production manager, this position will use their unique skillset to help bring an event to life.

The position can be based out of any of our three LEO offices and is required to work from the office at least 3 days/week.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for creating event designs, drawings, renderings, etc. for company events, following departmental and company policies, procedures, and practices
  • Make sure designs satisfy client and corporate requirements, are within budget, and are delivered within deadline
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and ensuring fast ordering process
  • Ensure room specifications are well understood; maintain specs for floor plan, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, etc.
  • Participate in departmental, planning, and design meetings, as well as in brainstorming sessions
  • Responsible for managing all design elements with Production Manager, builder, and/or hired vendors to ensure the vision and overall concept is achieved
    • Handle vendor sourcing for the department (i.e. national décor providers, rental companies, creative elements, etc.)
  • Create presentation decks within PowerPoint/Keynote/PDF to communicate concepts, moods, and ideas effectively
  • Ensure project status, delivery information is promptly communicated to internal teams and clients
  • Be current on new design trends, vendor products, props/design elements, and production techniques



  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in design related field or equivalent experience
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant interior/creative design experience in a corporate setting


  • Innovative minded individual with strong ability to generate new ideas continually concerning design creation and production techniques
  • Possess positive attitude with the ability and willingness to work with clients and other departments of the company
  • Strong ability to handle issues proactively – ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and give a solution
  • Solid portfolio of previously and successfully designed events, such as corporate meetings, festivals, activations, weddings, and parties
  • Extensive knowledge of production vendors, production resources, local event permit requirements, event location, and other event resources
  • Must have a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • As most projects/work will be based in the Memphis, TN area, light travel will be required depending upon business needs
  • Flexibility to work nights and/or weekends
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment all while possessing excellent time-management skills
  • Operational knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus


Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

Employee required to spend a portion of time in a seated position looking at a computer screen. Employee will be required to do some standing and walking. Employee will be in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
