Position Summary:

The Account Executive is a leader in the Account Management department and a contributor to the overall success of LEO Events. This role is responsible for achieving sales goals and contributing to the financial performance of the department. This position is responsible for account management and client relations while working collaboratively with all departments and company principals. This position will build long-term, value-based, customer relationships that enable achievement of sales and service objectives. This position is responsible for shepherding their professional development in sales and operations.

This position is based in our Memphis, TN office. This position is required to work from a LEO office at least 3 days/week after a 90-day orientation period and is ineligible for full-time remote work.

 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage Memphis/Regional sales efforts and business development under the direction of the Director, Events
  • Manage local operations for DMC, corporate, non-profit accounts
    • Support DMC positioning within Memphis and our lead sources (MCVB, Hotel Partners, ADMEI, regional associations, etc.)
    • Manage client goals and objectives; work with client/committee to establish event objectives and operational needs
    • Work with Marketing to provide regular updates and maintenance of our DMC sales assets with LEO marketing team (Newsletters, LEO Destinations, Proposals, Scope of Services)
    • Collaborate with Director, EPM on market incentives and sales incentives
    • Review market sales analysis and P&Ls with Director, Events 
    • Lead client site visits
    • Lead client prospecting (Convention calendar, Peabody Booking Reports, etc.)
    • Attend weekly Peabody Hotel Sales Meeting
    • Support DMC proposal & budgeting process
    • Support Event/Project management proposal & budgeting process
    • Vendor sourcing, procurement, and logistics
    • Serve as Clients’ main point of contact when applicable
    • Turn-key execution and operations for events as needed
    • Participate in departmental reconciliation and coordination with accounting
    • Develop and maintain local vendor and stakeholder relationships – with support of the Operations Manager
  • Account Executive as assigned for integrated services accounts
  • Programming & Project Management for accounts
  • New product development
  • Effectively service client accounts
  • Encouraged to attend industry education & networking events and receptions as requested and available
  • Participate on LEO Events Account Management Team
    • Attend mid-year Meeting & weekly Business Development calls
  • Other duties as requested

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience industry experience such as previous employment in corporate meetings and events, non-profit events, convention sales or services, destination management, hotel sales or services
  • Candidate should be knowledgeable of market and industry trends

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

Employee required to spend a portion of time remaining in a seated position looking at a computer screen. Employee will be required to do some standing and walking.  Employee will be in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
