Position Summary: 
The Human Resource Director maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. The ideal candidate must thrive in a challenging and fast paced atmosphere where prioritizing and multi-tasking are the norm. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are mandatory.

Essential functions are listed in order of importance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Annually review and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors
  • Assist supervisors in the preparation and execution of 90-day and bi-annual reviews
  • Work directly with department managers to recruit candidates as needed. Facilitate all interviews and counsel management on candidate section
  • Maintain and enhance onboarding for new hires
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Recommend, evaluate and participate in staff development for the organization
  • Conduct annual wage compensation surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; advise on increases of compensation
  • Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs
  • Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records
  • Maintain Paycom (HRIS) to meet the organization’s personnel information needs
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in design related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in professional HR Management
  • Paycom experience preferred

Environmental Conditions:

  • Employee required to spend a portion of time remaining in a seated position looking at a computer screen. Employee will be required to do some standing and walking. Employee will be in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
