Position Summary: 
This entry-level position is responsible for the execution of internal and external communications for LEO Events. This position reports to the Marketing & Communications Director and works within a marketing team that consists of the Art Director, Business Development Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Essential functions are listed in order of importance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Shepherding and supporting Business Development, Creative and Production teams in the preparation of and response to RFPs/proposals/pitches
  • Development and maintenance of all master proposal templates, including capabilities decks, cases studies and assets
  • Write speeches for senior leader speaking engagements / events and outline supporting PowerPoint or Keynote content for the Creative Department’s design purposes
  • Copywriting and production of all LEO publications, digital newsletters, company descriptions, business listings, press releases and communication emails
  • Management of company website content and copy
  • Collaborate with the creative team to produce exceptional promotional materials and collateral
  • Scour internet for news/articles that can be used for thought leadership sharing and recrafting
  • Write blog articles and/or ghost write on topics relevant to the company or industry
  • Craft company award submissions and nominations, including the sourcing
  • Work with Human Resources on edits to employee manuals, job description masters, internal social media parameters and all onboarding materials as needed
  • Monitor LEO brand guidelines as it applies to company voice
  • Identify, submit and secure speaking engagements for key staff at conferences and other industry events
  • Work with Social Media Coordinator to research keywords, implement research into content strategy, and optimize content for SEO purposes
  • Coordinate with outside agencies on projects as assigned and disseminate creative / art to Marketing & Communications Director and Art Director approval
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications
  • Other duties as assigned as well as occasional on-site support of event team


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, tourism or relevant field of study, preferred but not required
  • 1-2 years years copywriting or business and creative writing experience, preferred


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and desire to learn are prerequisites for this job
  • Ability to coordinate projects, meet tight deadlines with quick turnaround, and multi-task with supreme sense of urgency and good time management skills
  • Possess strong attention to detail
  • Possess strong writing and editing skills and understand appropriate grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules
  • Support the brand’s defined voice, tone, and nomenclature
  • SEO experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience with creative writing and independent research is ideal
  • Ability to learn anything new quickly and be able to implement that new concept to a product in short turnaround
  • Technically savvy and strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and more (some experience in Keynote preferred) Professional and positive approach

  • Willing to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel as requested (an average of up to 4x a year)
