Each autumn, we “get in the zone with AutoZone,” when more than 1,800 field sales reps hit the road to Memphis for an energizing, weeklong rally to talk shop, tinker with ideas, and learn new techniques. Highlights include a vendor expo, a celebration of accomplishments, and a roll-out of the AutoZone strategic plan for the upcoming fiscal year.

The U.S.’s leading retailer and distributor of automotive replacement parts hands the keys over to LEO Events to manage every detail of this annual meeting, including meeting space selection, hotel room booking, registration, transportation, brand and content management, production, event theming, signage, and all collateral materials. All total, we manage more than a dozen venues for meetings, off-sites, and dinners, including seven hotels, each with on-site staff for hospitality, registration, and arrivals and departures.

In other words, not just the kit, but also the caboodle.

And that’s not all. In fact, we’re just warming up the engine. We also secure, coordinate, and manage all levels of entertainment: local talent, headline entertainment, guest speakers, event celebrities, and the like.

Our themed evening events are interactive, usually involving games, contests, and celebrity meet-and-greets, and every guest always takes home a branded gift as a memento of the exceptional time they had (while keeping the AutoZone brand in the headlights).

AutoZone is a big brand with big meeting needs. And we love that. Because the way we see it, it’s the perfect opportunity to put our creativity to work finding unique solutions for creating a learning environment that is equally entertaining and memorable. Which includes overcoming numerous challenges — like coordinating multiple breakout agendas for a variety of groups, as well as special luncheons in limited meeting space. The outcome? The 2015 meeting closed with some of the best feedback yet, from all levels of AutoZoners.

Every November, AutoZone gives special recognition to their best and brightest at the Sales Leadership Council, an incentive perk bestowed on the top 125 field performers. Held in various locations throughout the country — including Scottsdale, Miami, San Diego, and Orlando — this dynamic get-together is more than a meeting. This is when top performers meet with company leaders to receive congratulations and hobnob with fellow cream-of-the-crop performance leaders. This casual, laid-back event encourages camaraderie and a real sense of being an integral part of the elite AutoZone team. And for more than seven years, LEO has been privileged to share the driver’s seat with AutoZone.

VENDOR SUMMIT / MERCHANT CLASSIC

Fueled up and giving back.

Every year, AutoZone hosts a two-day Vendor Summit in Memphis, where all AutoZone vendors are treated to an awards banquet, general sessions, and breakout meetings. In addition, LEO helps coordinate a “give-back” component called the Merchant Classic, a one-day special program that pairs vendors with AutoZoners at various events throughout Memphis. Participants travel the highways and byways to drive in funds that support AutoZone’s designated charities. So it’s not just a good time — it’s a good way to do good and fill up on philanthropy.
